How and why WildList Board Members Where ChosenMembers of the WildList board were chosen by me, Joe Wells, creator and owner of the WildList. While I looked for a number of qualities in the people I considered, one quality was paramount to the point of nearly eclipsing all other qualities: Each member chosen shows far more interest in protecting end users than in any other interest. Users are more important to them than products. In fact, since the board was formed, most members have changed employers. Yet this is not a problem because they represent users, not companies. So while the board is governed by several "commandments", the two greatest are these:
Many in the av industry show themselves contentious, opinionated, and strongly self-willed. Board members, however, have shown themselves reasonable and objective, and have often 'actively' promoted cooperation. Some av people tend to focus tenaciously on minor issues, to the point of fanaticism. Every board member has shown reasonableness, common sense and a good grasp of the whole, multi-faceted, virus problem. Sadly, a few in the industry often criticize, argue, and "flame" others. In contrast, those asked to join the board behave as the professionals they are. True, board members have criticized me, but it has always come as practical constructive criticism, which, usually, I deserve it. In an industry known for its big egos, I fully believe I have chosen reasonable, cooperative, professionals who will best serve the interests of end users and the industry as a whole.
